to ohio and back again

i really needed a weekend and had a great one.
as everyone graduates there comes commencement! I returned to Ohio this weekend for the final chapter in a moby-dick like novel called BW. There were definitely some great experiences, and some not so great, but I can say that without it, there would not have been great things for me. I constantly think of what might have been if I had worked a lil harder or had not been so stubborn at times... I did feel like this weekend I was coming back to mostly a burnt bridge with several paths that had been severed, socially especially, but i also let down some people career wise, and financially. Maybe BW is more a small taste of who we are as ourselves and how our relationships survive and our personal values are put to the test. I felt like the experience was more of a social experiment than a place to grow educationally, well i mean of course there was education involved, but a lot of it was through social interactions. It felt like one long episode of DiGrassi. Maybe down the road I can find some truth and evidence in the ash that was left from those bridges.
The family were very supportive this weekend which made things so much better to come back to. We have had our problems in the recent past, but to get through those and come together at another time other than Christmas and Thanksgiving was special.
I got a lot of gift cards, monies, Guinness and BW alumni hats!, and several stuffed animals. :)
My return to Louisiana was a nauseating one to say the least but I am back and beginning Chapter 2 of the next novel in my life called AmeriCorps! this chapter could become the most boring, but will there be romance? or some hot sticky humid weather action in the summer months? ..yea its 90 already this morning..sweet

why is it still 50 F in ohio

so i think I may go for it and get Super Street Fighter IV and Final Fantasy XIII with my target gift card I got from the relatives!
I mean they're both supposed to be kick-ass games that will take up most of my time :)
I am also looking forward to coming home in 9 days! Next Thursday ill be back home! Flying into columbus thursday and visiting the siblings, then spending friday and a lil bit of saturday home, then going up to cleveland Saturday night for some fun with friends, graduation Sunday and driving back to Columbus to fly out on Monday! Just a couple of days! Why is it still 50 degrees in Ohio??!! It could mess with my head!
Sunday I got to go the International festival de Louisiane in Lafayette with my friend Ty! There were 5 stages scattered about the city. After about 5 miles of walking and intense showtune conversation we were downtown. Ty introduced me to the band Babik from Buffalo! I also ran into 3 other VISTAs I met in Atlanta during a conference, it was so random and kind of creepy. But at the same time it was good to catch up! I also bought some bongo drums to play in my room when I feel the Zimbabwe spirit take over me. AND i had to buy a pin ! Why you may ask? Cause the international festival is the poor mans jazz festival, its free but they do recommend buying a pin to keep the music going..its a pretty cool pin..it flashes...its at least $60 dollars to the Jazz fest in NO soooo!?@#%all worth it to see Pearl Jam, 'Retha Franklin, and Simon & Garfunkel im sure, but I was happy listening to awesome gypsy music!

Saturday night in Alexandria

its so quiet out here in the bayou. I mean its Saturday night, and there is nothing going on! This place makes BW seeem like Ohio State on the weekends.
The last week I have had a strange urge for artistic expression. Some motivation coming from online artwork @deviantart and watching PBS late night oil painting specials. I feel like I could set up an art studio in my small hole of a room, just like a hermit, not come out for days and throw paint on canvas and call it artistic expression and sell it on ebay for loads of money. Or just keep it and make a huge collage all over the walls and show it to no one, unless they really really wanted to see it. It sounds absolutely fantastic.
What is up with this Ice cloud over Europe right now?! its crazy big and I don't see it calming down soon. I mean the last one happened in 1810 and it erupted for 2 years..i dont think it effected the boats of the time the same way it does to planes now. I guess its because its unlike regular clouds so radar doesnt detect it. Maybe there should be a new invention - a radar that detects dusty glacier particles and jet engines that can function like submarines through deep ocean water. somethin like that.
The Cavs won today. It just proves that well they are the best team and will take the Bulls on a rollercoaster ride called the get yo brooms out!
I am drinkin some Bud and about to pull out some MLB The Show and beat down some more online players. How bout that for a productive Saturday. I really cant wait for my golf clubs to get here. There is nothing better than hitting a golf ball 350 yards straight off the tee with a light weight driver that was not made in the 70s [like my garage sale set from home]

first bloggin

hey Blogger Nation. this is my first bloggy blog. I am currently at work..done with the days tasks, and its only 10:30. Yay! I hope this day goes fast. I think I have done more today than I have combined all week. WHAT

Last night I played Modern Warfare 2 til my face fell off. I upgraded to the 2nd level of sub machine guns where there is an actual aim lock on the gun, i had no chance agaist the competition until now! It is a blast to play online...and I will play it again and again.

I am havin a so so time here in Alexandria, La. I have not been as social as one might want to be. I have been pretty isolated these first two months in the den. The biggest step was meeting a couple theater people in town, and getting to hang with one for awhile. Really cool kid!

I will be flyin back to Ohio the second weekend of May for graduation. I'm excited but my time there will be quite short and probably sad and happy all at once. If things fall through here in the next month, and I can find something enticing in Ohio, which has never happened in my job looking experience, then I may move back. The ball is in my court.

Speaking of basketball, the Cavs are number 1 in the NBA, and no one will match their utter force, not even the Mavs. Ya the Mavs, not the Lakers. I don't think they will make it for the third year in a row. The Cavs with LeBron, with Mo, with JJ, with Shaq, and lets not forget fuzzy haird Verajao..plus a great bench, Danny Ferry is the man.

Peace.
